This is a delicious tomato based sweet Kansas City Style barbeque sauce with just a little heat. You can make the sauce in less than 30 minutes. This recipe makes 2 pints (1 Quart) of sauce.

Divide it by half if you only want enough for one meal or double it and can the 4 pints for use later in the year. If I am brushing it on meat on the grill, 1 pint is all I need. If I’m baking the meat in the oven, then I use a full quart.

Prep time is about 10 minutes and cooking time another 15 minutes.

• 2 cups ketchup
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (white or red wine vinegar works as well)
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/4 cup paprika
• 2 tablespoon chili powder
• 2 teaspoons cayenne

Sautee garlic in pan with olive oil until brown. Add remaining ingredients, reduce heat and simmer until thickened.

That’s all there is to it. Enjoy!
