If you want a burger without the fat or carbohydrates, then try these delicious onion encrusted turkey burgers. This recipe is so good that your guests or loved ones won’t even know that they are eating healthy. If ground turkey isn’t available, you can substitute the turkey for lean hamburger, however, I suggest you try the turkey because it is amazing cooked like this.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of crispy fried onions. You can find these in most supermarkets. (They usually come in a 6 oz can and are regularly used in green bean casseroles.)
  • 1 Lb of ground turkey
  • 2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Shape into 4 patties and salt and pepper. Place on oiled grill over medium heat for 10 minutes or until no longer pink in the middle, turning once.

This is a very simple but delicious way to cook burgers. They can also be fried in a pan using olive or canola oil to keep out the bad fats.

    Serves 2 to 4
