When the Denver Rocky Mountain News folded, I was torn. I
liked the format of the R.M.N. as opposed to the Denver Post
and I felt the news offered a more balanced prospective then
the Post.
However, over the last few years all the Denver papers
appeared to lean more towards a liberal view and the Rocky
Mountain News was heading in that direction as well.

I am one who will read anyone’s point of view whether it is left
or right leaning as long as it’s freethinking and is tolerant of other
peoples views. However, the Rocky Mountain News had a few
writers and cartoonists who were nothing but intolerant left wing
radicals.

This is where I was torn, I would miss the News but I wouldn’t
have to see the cartoons from Mike Keefe or the articles from
Mike Littwin. Boy was I wrong. Of all the quality people the Denver
Post could have hired from the News, they picked these two
clowns. The only reason I can think of is that these two are so far
out of the main stream thinking, that the post figured they would
cause a reaction with the reader and that would be good for circulation.

Denver Post, what in the hell were you thinking?

Today was the final straw. As I was browsing through the paper
I came across a so called cartoon from Mike Keefe. (See cartoon
below) Unlike a writing from Mike Littwin, you can not ignore a
cartoon that smacking you right in the face. However, this hate
based doodle was so outrageous that I decided it was time to
cancel my subscription to the Denver Post and write a blog about
this.

Homogeneous Nation

As you can see by the picture it shows a white man with a
Mohawk haircut holding a rifle. Tattooed on him is swastikas,
kill the Jews, death to gays, send the blacks back, nix the Mex,
and die Arab along with some other symbols. The caption reads,
“You’ll thank me later when the world is one Homogeneous nation
of people like me”.

This had to be one of the most appalling, radical, hate filled
animations I have ever came across. What was Keefe trying to
say? Evidently that the white men of America are gun carrying,
hate filled, urban terrorists who feel that unless you are like
them you should leave this country of be killed. What B.S. that
is.

I know there are people in this world just like that. The Aryan
Nation and KKK come to mind but I also know that there are
people in other nationalities and races that feel this same way.
If a religious leader opposes gay marriage based on his religious
beliefs does that make all religions hate based? When Obama’s
minister the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, a black man, made
anti-Zionist statements and finished his service with the
sentence “God damn America”, does that mean that all blacks
hate America and Jews.

Not a chance, it means that this man and this man only has
these thoughts and hates and it should not impact us one little
bit towards any other race or nationality. There is hate all over
the world. Some Arabs hate the Jews, should we condemn all
Arabs? Some radical Arab followers of the Koran hate all
non-believers, should we kill all Arabs? Some of the worst hate
crimes in prison are between black and Mexican gangs.

I can go on and on but the point of all this is that yes, there is
hate, bigotry, racism and discrimination in this world and in America.
It is shared by a few radicals and it is in all color of people, religions,
sexual preferences, and nationalities.

When people such as Mike Keefe and the Denver Post decide its
ok to publish a picture such as this insinuating that American
white men are hate filled and only want a nation of people like
them, it makes me believe that it is only done for the shock factor.

Can they be so stupid as to believe this crap and if they do,
its people and corporations like these that contribute to the world
of hate and bigotry.

The only thing we can do is to make sure we don’t pay their
salaries by not advertising in or buying their newspaper.
