I am trying to eat healthy and drop a few pounds. A friend of
mine told me about this new wonder drug called Alli. It is
essentially a fat blocker. It works by preventing the body from
absorbing the fat from the foods that we eat, and it is the one
freely available drug that has FDA backing for its claims to aid
weight loss.

My friend said it appeared to be working for him and he dropped
a few pounds before he had to quit taking it. I asked him why he
quit and his reply was the side effects of the drug were too harsh
for him. I pressed further and even though it was a little
embarrassing for him he said it caused him severe anal leakage.

I was kind of caught off guard by that reply. Severe anal leakage,
I have never heard of that. I decided to get on the internet and
find out a little more.

What I read was that Alli causes side effects which center around
digestive and bowel problems. The higher the fat content in the
diet, the greater these side effects are likely to be, as the
undigested fat is expelled from the body. Flatulence, loose stools
and bowel incontinence can result, especially in the early stages
before the body is accustomed to the drug.

The manufacturer’s website warns, “You may feel an urgent need
to go to the bathroom. Until you have a sense of any treatment
effects, it’s probably a smart idea to wear dark pants, and bring
a change of clothes with you to work.”

Now I don’t know about you but it terrifies me to think about
someone attending an important meeting with a client after
taking one of these pills. Uncontrolled farting and defecating in
their pants I believe would be a real deal killer. Even attending
church could be traumatizing. Could you imagine the looks you
would get if during a silent prayer you accidently fluctuated and
then realized that you didn’t follow the manufacturer’s advice
and wore white pants? There is nothing less appealing on a man
or woman than a greasy sh…t stain on the butt of any light
colored pants.

However these side effects are reduced if you stick to the
recommended low fat diet and as the manufacturers hint, the
potentially embarrassing side effects can even be helpful in
encouraging you to keep to your diet.

I find that manufactures hint quite interesting. I’m not so sure
that greasy stains on the rear of my pants and gas pains would
keep me on my diet. If anything I would more than likely
determine that carrying a few extra pounds was probably better
for my mental state than the ridicule, stares and comments I
would get with the side effects associated with the Alli diet
pills.

Alli does not claim to work without consistent efforts toward
weight loss from you. What they do claim is that it can improve
your weight loss by up to 50%. That would mean a person who
lost 10 pounds without taking Alli would lose 15 pounds taking it.
It boosts your weight loss and rewards your efforts with better
results than you could get by yourself.

I have come to the conclusion that you really need to want to
lose weight to take Alli!

However, I think I’ll try the South Beach diet first!
